Only six days before Survivor Series, on the final RAW before the big event, there was one major question ringing through the FleetCenter … was this the final RAW with Stone Cold Steve Austin as Co-General Manager? If RAW was a sign of things to come, perhaps Stone Cold’s days of hell raising are about to return!
In a stunning series of events, Stone Cold’s team went a perfect 4-0 in matches against Eric Bischoff’s team, highlighted by Shawn Michaels’ defeat of Randy Orton. In a rematch from Unforgiven, HBK proved that the self-proclaimed Legend Killer is not always on target as some Sweet Chin Music gave Michaels the win, and a measure of revenge, against the young Orton. Stone Cold’s team would also see RVD pin Christian in a match for the Intercontinental Championship and the Dudley Boyz and Booker T score wins as well. If the success of Stone Cold’s Team is repeated in only six days, next week could be a very rough RAW for the five members of Eric Bischoff’s team!
However, as Bischoff and company pointed out throughout RAW, Sunday night’s match may not be a matter of which team will enjoy success, but instead whether or not Stone Cold can trust the five members of his team. Stone Cold’s team seemed to be on the same page on RAW and very much behind the man they will represent … will they do the same at Survivor Series? Order the pay-per-view on Sunday night to find out!
In other action, the much-anticipated match between Goldberg and Batista featured some surprises as Triple H returned to RAW for the first time in three weeks. After saying he would leave the arena for the night during an altercation with Stone Cold at the beginning of the night, Triple H returned to the ring later and tried to further damage Goldberg’s broken ankle with the help of a sledgehammer and chair. However, the tide was quickly turned and Goldberg unleashed a vicious spear on Triple H and hit Batista with the sledgehammer. Goldberg may not be 100 percent heading into Survivor Series, but he sure is dangerous – as Triple H and Batista learned on RAW.
The next time RAW airs will be a new era one way or the other. Will it be the era of Stone Cold being able to be The Rattlesnake once again, or will RAW next week be Eric Bischoff’s show? Only one way to find out … order Survivor Series on pay-per-view this Sunday and watch RAW next Monday at 9/8 CT on Spike TV!
